Gorgythion alcandra. Dognin, 1891. Lép. Loja 2, p. 38; validated the description of Mabille (1878) by using the name of the genus in the list (Helias), but the locality is Loja, Ecuador, and the name should be attributed to Dognin (1891)

Gorgythion alcandra (original description of Gorgythion alcandra Mabille, 1878). The name is unavailable, because it was not "published in unambiguous combination with a generic name (either explicit, or implicit by context)" (ICZN, Art. 11.9.3). No genus name was unambigously assigned to the species name.
