This name was proposed to replace Papilio biblis Fabricius, 1775, on the basis of tautonymy; a junior objective synonym. Grimshaw (1897), Trans. R. Soc. Edinburgh 39, part I(1): 5, recorded one ♀ “type” from the Dufresne collection in RSME; this cannot be a type since thadana is a replacement name.
